Michael
Michael - an elfish, magical man with thin expressive face and short-cropped hair, which he frequently rubs his hands over....like a velvet security blanket. Michael is passionate about fantasy - reading and writing it. A popular author with some personal disappointments that his books h ave not won any major literary awards ~ yet! He loves to write with young adults in mind and also loves to share his love of writing. Storytelling is all important, with character coming a close second. One of the big lessons from a day with Michael is the importance of revision and rewriting. The first draft is never the lst!
Quote of the day: Stoytelling is about sharing humanity.
white foam sparkles bright diamonds frevealed by sunlight smiling at the sky
driftwood washed ashore
detritus of stormy waves
recycled beauty
Seawinds
The men have left for the hunting. Kangaroo last seen across the lower grasslands at dawn. It has been over a week since our small group had a feast of game. It is my task to keep the burning stick alight till their return. I take the children to the crest of the hill in search of wild honey in the banksias. Resting for a time, I gaze over the great waters.
Something moves near the horizon~ small and white. It very slowly becomes larger to my gaze. It is like a bird, yet a bird that floats constantly on water, flapping its wings in the gentle breeze. It does not take off into the skies like Bunjil the great sea eagle. From what lands does it come? Why is it entering our great watser? Is it in search of food? It seems so gently, yet something about i ts certain progress makes me quake.
Should I be afraid?
